Affecting and estimated 65 million people worldwide, Epilepsy is characterized by a tendency to have recurrent seizures. A seizure may take many different forms including a blank stare, muscle spasms, uncontrolled movements, altered awareness, odd sensations, or a convulsion. To keep our NICU patients and their parents close, CHA HPMC partners with the Korean American Women Association to provide Scent Hearts. These hearts are worn close to the parents skin, and then given to the infant, so they can continue to bond, even when they can't be close.
